Tim Whitman

Timothy Paul Whitman Tim Whitman passed away on October 22, 2019, with his family by his side. Tim was born on March 17, 1947, in Seattle, WA, to Paul & Shirley Whitman, joining older sisters, Roberta and Sharon. Raised in the Edmonds, WA, home built by his father, Tim graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1965. He enlisted in the Navy, serving for two years on the USS Ranger.

He joined the Edmonds Fire Department in 1971 and served his hometown for 26 years, retiring as Assistant Fire Chief in 1997. Tim met Jubilee Werdal in 1971 and they married in 1972. They built a house on his family’s property in Edmonds, where they raised two beautiful daughters, and enjoyed hosting many family gatherings. Tim had a special relationship with his father and longtime nextdoor neighbor, Paul Whitman. In 2007, Tim and Jubilee moved to Union, WA, and Tim often joked about moving away from home for the first time in 60 years. Tim served as Mason County Fire Commissioner for District No. 6 since 2011 and enjoyed serving meals at Community Lifeline in Shelton, WA.

A proud father and grandfather, Tim leaves behind his wife, Jubilee, two daughters, Hilary Brasser (Justin) of Seattle, WA, and Leah-Marie Whitman, of Shelton, WA, one grandson, sisters Roberta Burns of Spokane, WA and Sharon Musgrove of Surrey, BC, and extended family. He will be lovingly remembered for his bright eyes, delightful smirk, and impeccably timed sense of humor. A man of few words, he could speak volumes with his very presence and always meant what he said. The Memorial Service was held at Shelton Presbyterian Church on November 8th.

Obituary provided by classmate Jack Ward.
