I'm very sorry to hear that George has died. Sending love to those close to him. A memory I have is that during the war he was coming to visit me in Tasmania on his Rand R. There was much planning , excitement  and anticipation. But I got a message near to his due arrival that he couldn't come. He had stepped on a mine.
I hope he had a happy rich life.

Very sad to hear of George's passing.  George and I grew up in the same neighborhood along with Jim Conner, Jeff Johnston, John Brunson, Ron Drozdowski and many others and spent many a day out in the field next to his house playing Army.  I kinda had a feeling that George may not have been doing well as, for the first time in all these years, I did not receive a Christmas card from George nor was he returning my emails, very unlike George.   If there's a heaven, George has everyone laughing by now, driving his Corvette with a whiskey in hand singing Garyowen, Rest In peace my friend.

I got to know George more in the past 50+ years than in school.  He was always positive, and upbeat. I have enjoyed many a conversation with him, both in person and by letter.  I was looking forward to seeing him at the next reunion....   My sincerest condolences to Jan and his family.

I didn't know George in high school.  I just admired his good looks!  I did talk with him at several of our reunions; he was a kind, interesting, and knowledgeable man who had accomplished a lot in his life.  He will be remembered fondly.

So sorry to hear George has passed. My memories of him from high school are all positive He

seemed to be someone (one of the few of us?) who knew where he was going, even in High

School. A life well lived, I am thinking.

George McLouth, Lieutenant Colonel, 7th US Cavalry (ret), United States Army-- His passing reminded me of General Douglas MacArthur's speech to the cadets at Westpoint--“Duty, Honor, Country.” -- Goodbye George, a true officer and a gentleman.

https://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/douglasmacarthurthayeraward.html

Duty, Honor, Country: Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying points: to build courage when courage seems to fail; to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith; to create hope when hope becomes forlorn...They create in your heart the sense of wonder, the unfailing hope of what next, and the joy and inspiration of life. They teach you in this way to be an officer and a gentleman.

By brookes too broad for leaping, I'm thinking of George McLouth. With many others I looked forward to, hopefully, seeing him at #60...
The Army turns out warriors. George added valor to the ranks, and the gentleman he will always be.
