This is sad, this is just to sad.  I don't remember her but I hate hearing about any of our classmates passing over.

Gayle and I both lived in Alderwood Manor on Beech Road in the fifties.  She was in my kindergarten class, as were several others in our graduation class, including Bill Thompson, Peri Axness, Barbara Harris,  Jerrie Lynn Holmgren and others whose names I no longer remember. I understand what you mean, Pat, by this being sad.  It makes me think of the line is John Donne's poem where he writes "each man's death diminishes me". So many of us seemed to be swallowed up by junior high, and then high school, where we lost touch with early childhood friends.   R.I.P.,  Gayle.

Dear friends and classmates,

I remember Gayle though I did not know her well in school. I write this to convey my sympathy to her family but also to commiserate with all of you at the lose of another of our friends and classmates. I feel that everytime one of us passes that some of who we are goes with them. We are all like family and I feel deeply that our reconnecting is like coming home after a long absence. And kudos to Anne for keeping us in the loop about Gayle and other's who have passed. Tough business but much appreciated. Rest in peace Gayle.

Andrew

Dear Andrew,

I think your comments so accurately convey how we all feel at this time.

I am looking at my copy of "Mesika" and see how Gayle was a member of our ski club and G.A.A. all through high school-plus she was a Letterwoman in her junior and senior years.  She honored our school by her hard work and dedication.

Thank you again Andrew for your kind words and Anne for commitment to our M.H.S. family.

Sincerely,

John

One of the hardest challenges we are all facing as we pass into seniorhood, is to watch the people we know or know about pass away.   I remember reading one of comedian George Burns's autobiographies written when he was 95 years old.   He said that everyone he ever knew was dead.   All his current friends were younger than him.  As I am getting older myself, I am beginning to find reasons to doubt my theory that our generation is immortal.   I keep seeing evidence to refute that theory.  I'm going to hold out a little longer though.  My condolances to Gayle's family and friends, and thanks to this website, memory of her will live on.
