Marilee was not a teacher of mine at MHS, but I got to know her well the three years I taught English and German at Lynnwood High School in the early 70s. She figurately and literally held up my head during a very difficult time in my life, when she also taught me that drinking tequila straight was never going to work for me. She was effervescent, like a lovely sparkling wine.
