The first born, and fondly dubbed "favorite child" of Don and LaVerne LaRue, was born on January 15, 1947, in Seattle, WA. Roy, a strong athlete, grew up playing the sports he loved as well as hunting and fishing, attended Western Washington University. The highlight of Roy's life was the birth of his son, Blakelin LaRue in 1990. Roy and Blake, sharing a very special bond, spent many hours exploring, hunting and fishing throughout the Pacific Northwest. Roy, a successful real estate agent and mortgage loan officer, continued post-retirement work part-time for McPherson Better Homes & Garden Real Estate. I remember Roy well. We rode the same school bus and I played ball in his big yard with other neighborhood kids. His little sister, Punky, wa the flower girl at ny marriage to Christine Copley, class of 67. I always remember him and his family withg great fondness. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. He was a gentle soul.
